When I cooked up this little idea to veganize Paula Deen recipes I never imagined what an undertaking it would be! When I opened up The Lady and Sons: Savannah Country Cookbook I was more than a little shocked at recipes like “Shrimp Butter” and “Creamy Cheddar Soup”. Before that moment I hadn’t realized what a huge project I had taken on. It’s been quite a stretch of my veganizing abilities and has truly tested the limits of my deep fryer but my goal is to bring you veganized versions of all of Paula Deen’s cherished recipes that are not only 100% cruelty free but also a little more kind to your waistline.
